An Argox partner in Turkey provided ticket printers for two recent trade shows, the WEM Fair and the Pharmacist Congress, held November 13~16. The WEM Fair had over 100,000 attendees this year. Our partner provided four OS-214 label printers to print entry tickets for attendees at both shows. We share this example with everyone, so we can appreciate and gain from their success and experience. (See photos)

Argox has released two new handheld data terminals, the PT-20 Portable Data Terminal, and the PT-60 Mobile Computer. The PT-20 is equipped with a proprietary operating system and Bluetooth wireless capabilities. The PT-60 supports the Win CE operating system and offers both Bluetooth and WiFi capabilities. A description of each terminal’s functions and features follows.

PT-20 Portable Data Terminal

The PT-20 Portable Data Terminal (PDT) is a high performance wireless handheld mobile data capture device that scans and stores bar code data for upload to computer. The compact, industrial strength PT-20 features a superior scanner, large 4MB RAM and 8MB ROM memory, a color display, and a bold exterior design. Bluetooth capability allows wireless communication with peripheral devices within 30 meters. The PT-20 also supports RS-232 for transmitting data to a variety of devices, as well as USB for high speed transmission.

Ideal for intensive commercial uses, the PT-20 is shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof in compliance with IP54. The ergonomic, professional keypad and pistol grip are made of wear-resistant rubber and are comfortable to operate. For dark environments the keypad uses a white backlight, and the PT-20 also vibrates for scanning confirmation in noisy or noise-sensitive environments. A 2.4-inch color LCD screen supports 12-, 16- and 24-dot fonts as well as multiple languages. The PT-20 offers tough connections via Pogo Pin and Cradle and high quality cable connections, so broken connections are not an issue. Rechargeable standard and pistol grip batteries provide extended battery life for longer scanning operation. Accessories include single cradle, four-slot battery charger, holster, and charging and communication cable.

PT-60 Mobile Computer

The PT-60 Mobile Computer is a powerful wireless handheld computing device based on the Windows CE® operating system. The ergonomic, compact and durable PT-60 features a bright 2.4-inch TFT 320 x 240 QVGA display with touch screen, a high performance barcode scan engine, wireless communication support including Bluetooth and high speed wireless LAN 802.11b/g, and external USB and RS-232 interfaces. Memory capability includes 128MB DRAM, 128 MB Nand Flash, and one standard SD card slot for expanded memory space demands.

Lightweight at only 250g, the ergonomic PT-60 has an optional pistol grip for ease of scanning. Shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof in compliance with IP54 standards the PT-60 is built for rough environments. For generic applications, the PT-60 comes with a standard, comprehensive software developer kit (SDK) that supports a variety of I/O driver APIs. Accessories include a charging and communication cradle, a pistol grip, charging and communication cable and a four slot battery charger. The PT-60 is suitable for a wide variety of applications including retail, distribution, warehouse, and logistics.
