Our Turkish Partners Visit Argox
Argox talks with our friends from Turkey

In February, Argox was fortunate to have two of our best partners from Turkey, Bilkur and Perkon, visit our main office to discuss how Argox can support their growing businesses.

Interview with Ms. Zümral Erciyas, General Manager, Bilkur Computer Company

When did you begin doing business with Argox? How did it start?

We made our first contact with Carlson Tao in 1997. In the beginning we just did a little business with them. But we have been working with them for many years, and our business has grown significantly. We sell only Argox printers in the Turkish market. We have been working with Argox for a long time, and our commitment to Argox is very strong. We like supporting Argox printers, they are very reliable.

Please give us a brief overview of your business. Who are your customers?

We have been in business since 1989, but we’ve been in the barcode business for the past ten years. We have main distributors and over 600 vendors all over Turkey. We prefer our vendors to make the sales. However, to improve the market in Turkey we have to go directly to the end-users as well. First we introduce our products to textile companies, shoe companies, and others, and then they buy products from our vendors. Our aim is to make the most of our sales through our vendors. That’s why our vendors are very important.

For the barcode business in your markets, what changes do you expect over the next 5 years?

Barcode systems are increasingly popular now, but we also see RFID and mobile systems becoming popular in the next five years. Now USB connections are preferred because notebooks are in common use. Those systems do not have an LPT port and that is why customers want a USB connection. We got the good news today that Argox printer memory is sufficient for most applications, but in Turkey there are still some government needs that require higher memory. I have asked Argox for larger memory and this will help us.

This morning we talked about cutter types and the new cutter systems are coming out. We prefer that all the printers should have tear off parts.

What has impressed you most about doing business with Argox?

The technical support and flow of information are very fast, and we are very happy with this. We enjoy the technical support, and the sales team is very helpful. They are trying their best. Sometimes we are restricted by Argox rules, but the sales team helps us to come to more flexible solutions.

Argox printers are very reliable We don’t have any trouble with printing wrong data or anything, so we believe in Argox products.

What are the most popular applications for Argox products in the Turkish market?

For example, one of the most popular applications is for hospitals. Now most hospitals use Argox printers.

We have very close relationships with several software companies. We ask them to improve their software and we give them Argox driver information and Argox printers during development. We get help from Argox as they develop their software for Argox printers. Now those software programs are developed to work easily with Argox printers. So we have applications for hospitals, textiles, shoe industries, and automation companies.

We have a large library of barcode fonts and care label fonts. We help customers in other languages like Russian and Hebrew. That’s why most of the textile companies also use Argox.

We have another partner who develops software for shoe factories and we work very closely with them. They have improved their software the same way, and their programs are developed for Argox. Again we give them demo printers and we help them with the software. We have joined with them a couple of times to participate in fairs. Now most of the shoe factories and shoes department stores use Argox printers. Those are some of the applications.

What do you think of the current sales team at Argox?

The sales team is working very hard and they answer all of our questions at all times. Sometimes they even answer during the night, which is amazing.

In my previous answer I mentioned that Argox regulations hold us back. They could be more flexible.

Do you have any suggestions to help Argox improve their products and services?

Yes, as I answered before: USB ports and cutters.

Is there anything you would like to share with Argox and partners worldwide?

We will do our best to improve our sales. Our aim is to win together with Argox. I believe that we can improve our sales together.
