Dancing the Night Away
Argox holds another amazing year-end party

The February newsletter recounts the annual year-end dinner and talent show, and announces Argox's new CEO. A brief introduction to the Chinese zodiac is featured, and we highlight our first road trip of the year to Malaysia.

Year-End Party
The Beat Goes On

Every year, right before the Lunar New Year holiday, Argox holds a party to thank employees, suppliers, and customers. The year-end dinner is a tradition for companies in Taiwan, offering an opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate past and future successes.

This year the party was held in the ballroom of a local restaurant with several hundred people attending the event. Our VIP guests included customers from Turkey, Japan, and Europe. During the ten course dinner there were rounds of toasts, a company raffle, a talent contest, and a lot of great entertainment.

The annual talent contest has become a tradition at Argox. Five groups participated this year as they danced, drummed, and performed magic before the crowd and judges. At the end of the night, the judges made their evaluations, tallied their scores, and announced the winners. The top three performing groups were presented with cash prizes.

This year the first prize went to the marketing department for performing a synchronized drum routine. Second prize went to three employees that combined belly dancing with disco dancing. The third prize was given to group of employees who performed a modern dance routine. A highlight of the routine was when partner Carlson Tao rode his scooter out onto the stage blowing a whistle and joining the dancers.

For the rest of the evening, everyone was entertained by a terrific pop band, as well as an exotic dancer, who found some lucky members of the audience to dance with. How can Argox possibly throw a better party next year?

New CEO
Argox Names a New CEO
During the year-end party Argox announced that VP of Sales, Perry Ho, will become the company's new CEO. The announcement was made by current CEO, Mr. C.H. Chiu, who will turn over CEO duties to Perry at an official ceremony in March.

Congratulations, Perry!.

Chinese Zodiac
What's Your Sign?
This Chinese New Year has just brought us into the "Year of the Rat." The traditional Chinese calendar is divided into twelve year cycles, with each year represented by an animal, which are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Ram, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. In the West, your birth month is represented by a horoscope which is said to have an influence on your personality. The Chinese zodiac is used similarly. The year you were born and its associated animal are said to describe the type of person you are. The following is a brief description of traits associated with each year.

Road Show
Malaysia

For our first road show of 2008, the Argox team paid a follow-up visit to Malaysia in January. The team visited two cities: Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The last time we visited Malaysia was in July, 2007. The aim of this trip was to give an update on new products and provide further training to our distributors.

This time the focus was on our PT-80 portable data collector. The PT-80 currently runs Win CE 4.2, but in Malaysia our customers are requesting a version that runs Win CE 5.0. Argox will have the new version available in the next month or two.

The team also offered training on basic maintenance of new products, which included internal mechanisms, applications, and troubleshooting. Argox also appreciates the excellent feedback from our customers during the sessions. This helps Argox continuously improve our products and services.

Once again, we look forward to returning to Malaysia soon and visiting with our valued customers.

Argox Barcode News is a monthly newsletter that keeps our distributors, suppliers, end-users, and other friends up-to-date on what is going on at Argox. We welcome your questions and comments.
